The Challenge
Back in 2018 I inherited The Beauty Room Kibworth website.

The website had initially been developed by a now-defunct company. Facing the challenge of a WordPress site built with the Woo Theme builder that they no longer had support for, The Beauty Room sought my assistance to take over hosting and maintenance of it.
Although unfamiliar with the Woo Theme builder initially, I enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to learn and navigate its intricacies.
For five years, the site functioned smoothly under my care. However, the discontinuation of Woo Theme’s development posed a significant problem. Without updates, the theme became incompatible with the evolving WordPress platform, leading to issues and breakages on the site.
Hyphen’s Contribution
To update the site I successfully transitioned it from the Woo Theme Builder to the Divi Theme Builder while retaining the same WordPress site platform. However, this switch required reformatting each page to align with Divi’s structure. Fortunately, the process was straightforward, as I had taken screen grabs of every page, allowing me to reference the original layout and content.
Despite the need for reformatting, the content seamlessly transferred to Divi, requiring placement within the appropriate Divi modules. This task was efficiently completed over a couple of days, ensuring a swift and uncomplicated transition. Simultaneously, I took advantage of Divi’s diverse tools, incorporating new features such as a carousel in the footer, along with other enhancements that were absent in the previous site.
The Result
The Beauty Room Kibworth now boasts a fully updated website featuring the versatile Divi theme, offering an expanded range of design options compared to the previous theme builder.
This transition ensures a contemporary and visually dynamic online presence, aligning with the latest trends and providing enhanced flexibility for future design enhancements.
